There was a young lady who loved writing poems
right from her childhood, you know. Her teachers encouraged a creative approach as her rhyming continued to grow. All through the years she wrote poems for fun some silly, some funny, some not. And now she is older she has quite a store and keeps adding rhymes to the pot. I can tell you it's me - I'm the poet, you know, and I'm writing like never before. So come for the ride, there is nothing to hide and let's see where we end up, for sure. |
I think my first poem happened when I was about 8 years old. At primary school I had several encouraging teachers and, through them, I began my poetry writing adventure. Through the years I took courses, trying really hard to learn how to write serious, thoughtful, philosophical poems. But, let's face it, I was no good at those. I'd start a poem with a serious opening line and, next thing, my mind would suddenly trill along with silly words. I just couldn't get serious and, more to the point, I got depressingly bad marks for my work in class.
So the facts spoke for themselves. My poetry forte was apparently more about silliness, so I gave in to that and thought it was just a lot of poetry plonk. Oh yes, there it was - the name for my website.
I write all sorts of poems - mainly for fun. Usually they're triggered off by a photo I've taken.
Yes, along with writing poetry, I'm a photographer - see my photos HERE.
